Official Review: All-Star Cobalt Umpire Skull Cap - Regular Matte
The All-Star Cobalt Skull Cap is the first hard-shell skull cap designed specifically for baseball umpires—developed in collaboration with Major and Minor League Baseball. This updated model features a smooth matte finish, replacing the previous sand-matte texture, for a sleeker, more professional look that pairs seamlessly with today’s umpire masks and harness systems.

Wore a bucket for 10 years - wanted to try something different. I’ve been wearing this for just over a month. Spent a week at Cooperstown Dreams Park and work regularly at Ripken Experience in Aberdeen, MD. It looks professional and I’ve been happy with the way it fits. In summer it is still hot, but my bucket was as well. I like the flat black look and have zero issues with putting my new mask on and off. Just have to practice. One can also pull out the pads to wash to eliminate that lovely sweat odor. Definitely recommend.

Offers great protection and looks sharp on the field.

Nice cap but everything is different about my mask with this on. I spend more time fighting my mask than it’s worth and decided to just go with a 4 stitch hat instead.
