Description

The Evoshield Skull Cap is a vented coach's helmet with a shorter bill that will fit under any brand umpire mask for an added layer of protection for baseball & softball umpires from fastballs and errant bats.

This updated skull cap maximizes comfort with vented holes on the top and back to facilitate airflow. Innovative foam padding expands or contracts to fit multiple head sizes and keeps the skull cap in place when you remove your mask or run down the line.

Black or navy color options match your shirt or jacket.

Official Review: EvoShield Pro-SRZ Vented Skull Cap

Built for the unexpected — fastballs, broken bats, and bad hops — this skull cap is designed to protect umpires when it matters most. We break down the fit under a traditional mask, the 2¼" bill length, vented airflow system, secure foam-lined interior, sizing options (S/M & L/XL), and lightweight feel at just over a pound. Available in hi-gloss black or navy. If you’re looking for dependable head protection that stays put and keeps you cool, this review covers everything you need to know before you step on the field.

"It was exactly the item I was hoping for. Now I can serve as the home plate umpire with complete peace of mind."

I really can't put it down, I ordered it, once I tried to use it, it felt awkward and had to adjust my mask after every pitch. LOL I am thinking of putting pinstripes on it and use it when I play Umpire in Football. As far as fit, it did sit well on my head, material wise, no doubt it would have protected me for what I was looking for.

Sizing is wrong, ordered XL as it says fits up to size 8. I wear a 7 7\8 hat, could not the cap to fit, so no way it fits up to size 8

Questions About This Product

Q: I purchased this skull cap and when I put my mask on, the harness slides and won't stay secure. The cap is too smooth and tilted enough in the back that I can't keep my mask on securely. Recommendations before I send it back?
– Michael O'Neal
A:

With the additional surface area of the skull cap, a larger mask harness could be necessary. The All-Star Delta Flex, Force3 Pro Harness, or the Force3 Universal are larger, longer, or shaped for skull caps specifically.
