EvoShield Pro-SRZ Vented Skull Cap

Fits well. Minimal mask adjustment needed to fit over it. I have not yet used it in crazy hot weather. It does seem to vent well and was easy to get used to (compared to a hat). The biggest adjustment was not being able to feel if the back of the mask strap was all the way on...not a big deal.

Great skull cap and feels good in the 108 California summer. Pads feel like they will wear easily but are comfortable and fit the head well. Sweat stays held in but dries out quickly. Shines up well with quick rub down. Only wish is that it didn’t scratch so easy. Other than that, I will continue to recommend this skully.

This is a great option for us guys and gals that want a little more protection but don't want to go with the hockey style. I would love the padding to be removable so you can clean and replace as needed but for the price it is a good option, (you can actually justify if you work for multiple umpire organizations, you only need 1 plate hat). BTW, I use an All-Star system 7 FM4000 mask with Wendy pads and the brim fits without contact to the frame.

Unfortunately, the S/M was too small. And, I didn’t bother ordering the bigger size as I only imagined it would be too big. I didn’t want to spend the money on shipping to find out.

5 star, AND 2 star...hear me out. The bill is too long for MOST umpire masks, so it does run very close to the mask frame, and in some cases, touches the mask frame (refer to the problems with this on this website). I've alleviated this by shaving the bill down a little bit with a small grinder, dremel tool. After that modification, it's actually my favorite umpire skullcap.

I wear it with a Force 3 mask and works well. Looks sharper and better than the All-Star option. Haven’t had any issues with the glued in pads.

The bill is too long, and the padding should be removable. Having options in navy and black is a step in the right direction.

It's a nice helmet. I like the extra vents and the option to get black or navy. The problems are the fact the pads are glued in. I'd prefer if they were Velcro so they could be adjusted and washed. I don't mind the smooth finish. I'd prefer a textured one so I'd know it won't slip off. Lastly, I'm a 7 5/8, and the helmet should fit a size 8 head and I do find it a bit snug.

The helmet is well made. I returned the helmet because the foam inserts are glued in. I like the inserts for my helmets to be removable for machine washing.

I like the protection it gives. I wish the bill were shorter. It cuts into my window of vision. I wish the bill were like a combo cap, with a smaller degree curve.

Well constructed helmet!! Although I wear a 7 7/8 fitted hat, this skully would fit snugly, which I don’t mind. Only drawback was the where the padding is stitched together is dead center of the forehead and was not comfortable at all. Did not return for a refund. Just sold it to another umpire for what I paid for it. Stay safe!!!

I love it. My mask comes off with no problem. It fits like a glove.

I have a larger head, and I prefer a 7 5/8 hat, so I went with the large size of this EvoShield Skull Cap. It fits great, is very comfortable, and is tight enough not to come off when removing the mask. I used it with the All-Star Magnesium Umpire Mask and had no issues. It fits great. I also wear glasses and had no issues, and the glasses stayed on. I would definitely recommend this for extra protection. Your head is an important part of your body!
