These Smitty umpire pants are really solid. They fit well and are super comfortable, even on long days behind the plate. The stretch waistband is nice because it adjusts and doesn’t feel tight. The charcoal grey color looks sharp and professional. They’re also made from strong material, so they don’t rip or wear out easily. The flat front gives them a clean look, and they work well with the rest of the umpire uniform. I’ve worn them a bunch of times already, and they still look good. If you’re an umpire, these are definitely worth getting.

These pants are the perfect lightweight pant. They don't look bad over the shin guards and don't bunch up around the knee, which is just a look I don't love. They wash great and re-iron great.

The pant has a clean and crisp look and is more comfortable than its competition (I’ve tried many). Also, the expander waistband is key and provides ultimate comfort when behind the plate. These pants are very flexible and perfect for plate use. Shipment was quick.

This version of the plate pants are different from previous versions. Myself and others have noticed that the pant leg is tighter in the area where our shin guards are positioned. I take that to indicate that the pant leg in not as wide as it once was and is tighter than in previous versions. I double checked the order to see if these were COMBO pants.

This is the 2nd pair for me and the fit is dead on for me. The combination plate/base pants looks great in either fashion, and you can not tell if you’re wearing a plate pant on the field because they blend perfectly for both, unlike the old days where you had to have both styles to look professional on the field. All I have to do is to take them to my tailor and they’ll be ready to go.

Pants are good looking but only worn once and there is a tear in the pants that is not on the seam. They are comfortable but did not hold up. Typically, I would get multiple seasons out of a pair of pants.

I was skeptical about moving away from wool/poly blend, but these pants are terrific. Light weight and move easily without needing a tug when I drop down into the set. The color is great and they look fantastic.

These Smitty Umpire Plate Pants are a must-have or buy for umpires of all levels in baseball or softball. They provide you with that professional look with the flat front style while also providing that professional feel with their technology. The expander waistband allows you to tuck in your jacket on those colder days, so your hands aren't obstructed when reaching into your ball bags for a new ball or getting out your clicker or brush in those bag pockets. These pants last the test of time; even after multiple washes, they still look great. Great fitting and good looking. Light and cool as far as temps go on those hot days. They hold up well and don't hold wrinkles. Easy to care for as well. Just what you would expect from Smitty.

Comfy, but be forewarned, they ARE HUGE in legs. I have had mine altered and custom fitted, so I don’t feel like I have clown pants on.

These pants not only feel good on you, but they also breathe during the heat of summer, do not fade, and most of all they look great on you. I work 100-130 games during the 3 months of summer and they never let me down.

Have the flat fronts in Heather and now need charcoal for new leagues. I have one pleated pair in charcoal but the flats are just more me. These poly spandex pants are the best I have worn in hot, Florida weather. They wash well and don’t wrinkle if hung immediately after drying about 80%. In other words - remove from the drier before completely dry.

Only pants I use for the past several seasons regardless of game day/time temperature! I expect nothing less of this new addtion to the rotation!
