Official Review: Champro Pro-Plus Umpire Chest Protector
See this soft shell chest protector's features, benefits, and optional additional padding that will keep you cool, comfortable and protected at all season long.
Great product. They fit perfect on my Champro Pro Plus hard shell. I have taken and few tips and not felt anything. If you bruise easy, this will help to protect you.

I got tired of being hit in my upper arm and decided to buy these. So far I have been at least 5 times, but because I no longer feel the hit, I lost track. They are definitely worth the purchase.

There were no instructions on how to attach them to the chest protector and to my biceps. I would of liked some information. I will not know how much protection they will provide, since my season does not start until May 2023.

These are worth their weight in gold. I have been struck more than once by a thrown bat and have felt nothing. Taken a couple of foul balls and again felt nothing. I recently bought a new Gerry Davis chest protector made by Diamond and changed out the bicep protection for these. Covers much more of the bicep than the ones Diamond provides.

These are a great add, but they make your protector bulky. That being stated, I was able to snug them up close enough to the shoulders as to protect my arms, and still be able to move. As for protection, they are solid.

These extensions are well worth the money. They saved me several bruises last season. The only thing I would change is the strap for the bicep. It's too short (for big guys anyway) and the velcro chafes when it comes undone. If the arms of your shirt are tight enough you can do without the straps and the protectors stay in place just fine.

I have taken a few shots to the biceps and no bruises yet. Would recommend them with the caveat that the chest protector they are designed for isn't something you will use past age 13 or so. As a result, I don't know if I would say they are necessary but they are nice to have.

Added this to my umpire chest protector. They seem to be better than my old ones. They will give the protection my arms need.

I bought these after taking a foul ball in the arm, just below where my chest protector shoulder plate was located. I have taken one good shot to the arm since adding these pads, and there was no injury or pain whatsoever. They may look a little bulky, but if latched tightly to the shoulder plates, and covered by an umpire shirt, they don't get in the way at all. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants a little extra arm protection.

I bought these because setting up in the "slot" leaves my left or right biceps exposed (depending on left or right hitting batters) no matter how hard I tuck them close. When these extensions came and I tried a test fit, I was initially disappointed. There's a profound sense of restricted mobility because these are an "add-on" and not part of a complete design package. I didn't spend a lot of time adjusting, but threw them back in the box with the packing slip ready for a return. But after five games, the exposure of those meaty parts of my arm got me thinking. So I spent an hour trying to fit these correctly. I came to one significant conclusion: they're symmetric but with the attachment straps biased off center toward the front of the chest protector. There's a tag sewn into the lining that says Right or Left on each extension. Ignore these. For maximum protection, you'll want to place the right extension on the left side of the chest protector and the left extension on the right side (that is, unless mine are warranty return defects). This will put most of the protector towards the pitcher which is what I need. I'll give them a try in a game, voiding my ability to return them, but for the price of these extensions vs the return shipping cost: I'll just say they're somewhat offset. Would I recommend these? Ask me after taking a shot to the bicep. But until then: I don't think so.

Q:
Will they fit any chest protector? I have a Wilson. – Sal Dimercurio
A:
No. These bicep extensions are compatible with the Champro Pro-Plus Umpire Chest Protector only as they provide a slot in the shoulder cap for the Velcro straps of these extensions to go through.
