Best Brands Making Big Donations to WWUA
May 23rd, 2024For the 10 year anniversry of the Wounded Warrior Umpire Academy, 11 of your favorite brands are donating gear and apparel for the 33 veteran-students.
1. Force3
For the 3rd year in a row, Force3 Pro Gear has dontated 25 sets of full plate umpiring gear.
2. New Balance
Dontating all plate and base umpire shoes plus $5 for every plate and base shoes purchased thru June 7th or first 400 pairs sold.
3. Smitty
Each year uniforms are donated including shirts, pants, tights, and ball bags.
4. Champro
Year in and year out, Champro has been the provider of equipment bags for all the gear students recieve.
5. All-Star
Many of the students have suffered head trauma during their time serving the country. All-Star has met their needs by donating Cobalt Skull Caps.
6. Boston Leather
The high quality leather belts from Boston Leather continue to the official belt of the students.
7. Wilson
Donating masks and the new Gold Pro 2 chest protector and shin guards.
8. Shock Doctor
Donating jocks, cups and pelvic protectors.
9. Thigh Pro
First year in business, first year donating their protective compression shorts.
10. Hickory
Every umpire needs back up pairs of shoelaces and Hickory did not want to pass up this opprotunity.
11. UMPLIFE
Conitinuing to support WWUA, Ray and UMPLIFE donated laundry bags, Mask and Chest Protector harnesses.

Marketing Specialist, HS & College Umpire Ty Unthank
Ty Unthank has been with us since 2017. He started in our order fulfillment department in our warehouse, then worked his was up to customer service specialist before landing the role as Marketing/Communications & Service Specialist in early 2020. Ty oversees our social media accounts where we have seen substantial audience, activity and engagement growth. You've probably seen him most in our library of videos on site and YouTube channel. He is a current college and high school umpire. He and Kristi (former employee) married in the summer of 2020. In August of 2022, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, Audrey to the world with much joy!
