These are the lightest and coolest pants I've worn in 25+ years of umpiring. This New York summer has been oppressively hot and humid, but these pants keep you as cool as possible. The combo feature is great. This weekend, the base appearance was crisp even though I had sweated through the first game behind the plate. I highly recommend this product.

Upon receiving them they looked baggier than I expected, and I was concerned about them being too much working the field. After getting them properly hemmed, it turned out that they were perfect. Easy to move in on the bases, and still big enough to fit the shin guards without looking tight. The perfect backup pair of umpire pants to have on hand at all times for whatever work might come up on those long days with multiple games.

The Smitty Poly Spandex umpire pants are without a doubt the best umpire pants ever. I am very traditional & was reluctant to buy them but after buying my first pair of base pants without the expander waistband I am convinced I waited too long. In the older style, I had to wear 44 with expander waistband but these have plenty of stretch that give so the 44 without the expander waistband fit perfect. Bought these Smitty combo umpire pants for my son who has been wearing my hand-me-downs for a few years. The poly-spandex looks great & now he will have a couple of pairs that look as professional as the ones we all wear. The combo umpire pant works better for him currently as he works little league & summer ball.

These are great umpire pants! High quality and professional look. Breathable with good air flow. First time going without the stretch waistband but still very comfortable. Better fit.

The color of these umpire pants look great! They have a loose fit, maybe too much so because they feel and look like actual plate pants. Because I'm a big guy, I have always bought combo pants for the bases because they have more room in the seat and thigh than base pants. However, the pants around the shin area are more narrow. Not so with these combo pants. I will try the base pants. I also don't like that they do hold up after putting them in the washer and dryer. Dry cleaning seems imperative.

These pants are the best thing to happen to umpires in a long time. Comfortable enough to wear as regular slacks! They hold up to washing well with very little fade. True size for fitting. They breath incredibly well. If you're not wearing them, you're missing out.

Great fit. Light weight and comfortable. Only draw back is its hard to hold the hem. Thin material tends to lose the stitching, but definitely worth the money.

Great umpire pants. I bought these to wear as base pants, since the cut through the seat and upper legs fits me better than actual "base pants". I got the lower legs taken in when having them hemmed, and they look great and feel great, even during one of the hottest summers I can remember.

Umpire pants are true to size and work for behind the plate as well as the field. Only downside with the grey is that sweat starts to show on those hot days.

Light weight, cooler than the traditional umpire pants. Only down fall is they slide in the waistline if you wear dry fit under shirts and tights. Over all good product.

Wore these for the 1st time behind the plate this weekend. Perfect fit. Didn't snag. The stretch fabric and light weight make them perfect for the Florida sun. They will pick up the clay, but it's an easy dust off. Love them!

Wore these for the first time this weekend. I am not a fan of synthetic pants because I usually get sweaty and sticky. These however felt great! They kept me cool and did not get stuck on my shin guards. Plenty of give and movement. They did not look like cheap "plastic" pants and stayed nice throughout the day with a nice soft feel.The combo is a good option for guys starting out because they looked good on the bases too. I will buy a second pair soon.

Used these umpire pants for the first time last night and I fell in love instantly. I was amazed on how well they move with my shin guards underneath. I love how flexible they are when getting into position to see the pitch coming in. I didn't have to worry about my pants ripping from behind which has happened before. I will be purchasing another pair for the bases soon.

Great pants that feel and look as advertised. After wearing them quite a few times, they look as good as new. Not to mention, sweat/water never soaks through. The only thing that took me a little off guard was the gray color. It's not what I'm used to, however, I'm still giving these a five star rating because I purchase for quality, not necessarily a perfect color match. I also get more compliments on these pants than any else.

The most comfortable pair of umpire pants I've owned yet. The combo pants have that great fit without being baggy behind the plate. The waist is about true to size.

Love these umpire pants. They stretch in all the right places and have an athletic fit. They look great on the field no matter what your partner is wearing. Waistband doesn't 'adjust', but it does stretch to give a great fit throughout the season.

I had to go with the combo pants due to not having my size in my original choices. I do like the pants and they perform well. They are comfortable and the stretchable waist is a plus.

The pants look great, the issue here is breathability, which the jury is still out on. The other Smitty pants, sans spandex, allowed more air flow.

I really like these umpire pants. Wore them in recent tournament as plate pants. They stretch and are relaxed fit for sure. There was no pinching or pulling around leg guards or cup. You know what I mean!

Feel is very nice and smooth. Full cut all over which is good on the backside for when in position behind the plate but the legs are so full on the Combo pants and cut a little too large for me to be comfortable with the combo pants on the bases.

Best pants you will ever own. The dark grey color is rich and made a little darker to withstand many washes because we small town umpires only keep two or three pair of pants and need them to stay dark grey for at least two seasons and a couple hundred dates on the diamond. They have a very smooth feel and you can tell right away they are stitched with tight weave. I have done two weekend baseball tournaments already and they are holding up great and don't show any dirt for the whole day until you switch out for the following day. Three pairs for the weekend work well and then just throw them into washer/dryer and they are ready again. Try them you won't go back to your old pants.

I ordered two pair of these Smitty Umpire pants and they were delivered today. Not sure if I will keep them yet. I love the feel and the fit but not the color. The picture shows they are very close in color to the gray on the shirt, but these pants are quite a bit darker. I'm former military and I am very particular about how I look while wearing a uniform and am just not comfortable with how much different these are. Much darker than the wool charcoal pants.
