This shirt is very breathable. I wear an XL t-shirt and in my umpire shirts. This shirt fits over my chest protector well and works for bases too. I could wear a large for bases though for a little neater fit. As a female it does tend to run a little long, but I have shoulders that make women's sizes fit funny, so stick to the unisex sizes.
