Mizuno Charcoal Grey Flat Front Umpire Base Pants with Expander Waistband

These Mizuno pants have some good features, but those are negated by the absurd fit. They are so droopy in the seat it's almost silly looking. The rise on these pants is 20" in the back, and 15" in the front. Go measure a pair of your existing pants and you will see that's wildly long. I put them next to the Smitty pants that I ordered and received at the same time. The Mizuno's are at least 2-3" longer in the seat than the Smittys. It looks like I'm wearing a saggy diaper in the Mizunos. I'm 5'9" and normal weight so it might be a little better for you if you're taller, but they're so oddly shaped that I think they'd still leave you with a droopy behind. I did like the color - it's a solid charcoal. And I did like the material - it's a little more substantial than the Smittys without being heavy, whereas the Smittys are very wispy and thin golf pant material. I wanted to like them, and I will use them, but I wouldn't buy them again.

So they fit bigger then Smitty spandex expander pants. I feel they are more of a combo than a base. I was able to pull the legs up and put my Wilson shin guards and and pull the legs over with little effort. The belt loops are large which made it easy to get the bags on and the large rear loop kept my pants up with zero rear sag. I do wish they fit better in the waist for me but they will make a good back up pair.

Fitment was great. Just bought one set during the sale to see if I like them. Boy I love them. Need to get 3 more.

Pants are very comfortable and the flex front is great.

Because I'm "vertically challenged", I wish that these pants came in inseam choices. It's hard to have alterations done to remove the "clowning" effect.

Mizuno plate and base pants are a great fit. Like the elastic front. Flat front is a different look than the pleated fronts. Be a good look for the tall thin umpires.
