A Whole New Look: Introducing Our New Sunglasses for Baseball & Softball Umpires

Feb 18th, 2026

This season we're doing something different.

We've added 3 Oakley sunglasses to our lineupand each brings an entirely updated, younger, and more athletic look to umpiring.

While these surely are not subtle updates, they are built for umpires who aren't afraid to evolve with the game.

The Radar EV path offers a performance-first design with a slightly more classic athletic profile. The extended upper lens improves visibility when tracking high pop-ups and deep fly balls.

The Prizm Trail Torch red lens isn't just for looks. It enhances contrast and detail in bright sunlight, helping reduce glare and eye fatigue during long days at the field. It also creates more contrast between the white baseball and green grass.

Of all 3 new styles, these are the most perfect bridge between traditional umpire style sunglasses and modern sports performance.

Let's be honest, this frame is different from what umpires have traditionally worn.

The Sutro introduces a bold, oversized shield design that breaks away from the smaller, conservative sunglasses most officials are used to.

And that's intentional.

The modern game is faster. Players are bigger, stronger, and more athletic. Equipment across baseball has evolved, from bats to gloves to uniforms to umpire gear and apparel.

Umpire sunglasses shouldn't stay stuck in the past and instead, should evolve with the game as well.

The all-black version of the Sutro offers the perfect transition. It keeps a clean and traditional appearance while introducing a stronger, more athletic style.

It doesn't look traditional. It looks current.

And then there's the bold option.

The red Prizm Trail torch lenses adds contrast enhancement for bright conditions, but it also makes a statement. It projects confidence. It signals presence.

Some umpires will hesitate.

But once you put them on, the difference is undeniable - in clarity, coverage and presence.
